Clarification of core-values, and increased commitment to valued behaviors is often a central component of successful treatment. For many people therapy also includes an emphasis on developing a powerful type of present moment awareness known as “mindfulness.” By learning specific mindfulness techniques and applying them to thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, we can become better equipped to handle life’s challenges, improve relationships, and gain control over emotional suffering.
